Day 1: A Mini Winter Haul

Whilst I may be slightly late to this bandwagon, I have been busy planning my blog posts for this Christmas period. I will be uploading a blogpost every week day, with a Christmas theme, from Christmas Party Make Up Looks, to my favourite accessories for this season. I love Christmas and winter is my favourite time of the year. I just love to get bundled up and keep warm against the cool air. I love sitting inside, my fairy lights twinkling in the dark and a hot drink clutched to my fist.

The Christmas season brings out a lot of beautiful make up items that I can, sometimes, get suckered into buying. I think it has to be the new packaging and the new make-up shades that I absolutely love. For this blog post I have a few items that I have purchased recently. The rest of the items I have bought are Christmas presents so I cannot show you those!!

So what did I get?

NYX Double Stacked Mascara Duo
When I picked this make up item up I initially thought it was going to be a white mascara primer, followed by a black mascara. I didn’t realise what I was getting. What this product actually is, is a black mascara and in the white tube are lash fibres. I have initially stayed away from fibre mascaras as I was actually slightly afraid of them! But because I have purchased one I had to give it a test. And I love it! I love the mascara on its own during the day time, and then if you want slightly more impressive lashes then adding the fibres and an extra layer of mascara is great for an evening look. Stay tuned for a review!

NYX Powder Foundation ‘Stay Matte But Not Flat’
I really wanted to find a powder product that would match my MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation. I’ve yet to find one that’s as good at the staying power and also the coverage. I have not tried this powder yet but a review will be going up once I’ve tested it.

 MAC Mineralize Concealer
I knew that when my Pro Longwear Concealer ran out I wanted to try a different concealer as I didn’t like how quickly I went through that concealer and how much I actually would waste of it. I initially picked up a different MAC concealer but the shade that I have, NW15, was not the same as the one I have when I get the Pro Longwear Concealer. Therefore, I took it back and the lady at the counter was lovely and helped me pick this one out. The shade is exactly the same as what I normally get, NW15, and I am completely in love with it. It’s slightly lighter in coverage but I still really like the way it looks!

 Kiko Lipstick in 934
I love the general Kiko lipsticks as they are super creamy and have an excellent pigmentation of colour. The one that I picked up is the shade 934, this is a beautiful berry colour – perfect for the Christmas times. I love the staying power of these lispticks and they also smell amazing – very similar to the scent of MAC lipsticks. This shade is perfect against my stupidly pale skin. And I think it goes really well with a simple eye look and long-lengthy eyelashes.

Becca Glow on the Go
I have never tried any of the Becca products so when I saw this set in my local Space NK store I knew I had to pick it up. The product sizes are quite little but they are the perfect size to put into your make up bag and take away with you. Or to take with you on a Christmas Party night out! These highlighters are simply beautiful, they do not require too much and shimmer beautifully in the light.

What products can you not resist this Christmas?
