Valentines Date Night Look – The Make-Up

Valentines is most definitely a time to experiment with different types of make-up styles, especially if you are going on a date night. For us, myself and my boyfriend, we tend to spend valentines in cooking a meal together and watching a film cosied in front of the TV in our pyjamas. But on the odd occasion we decide to do something together this is a look I have found perfect for valentines. I like to look pretty and girly and yet I like there to be an element of glam to my make-up.

I love to create a flawless base with a smouldering gold eye and then to top it all off the red lips is a must for valentine’s day.

So, onto the make-up I used…

Rimmel London Lasting Finish Foundation in Ivory
This is one of my favourite drugstore foundations, it’s in the medium coverage version and is perfect for covering any of my imperfections. It glides on effortlessly and doesn’t feel to heavy on my face, nor does it cake any of my make-up. It's perfect for a date night because it will last without any worries and there will be no need for any touch ups throughout the night.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer in Fair Netural
I tested this concealer a few years ago and really didn’t like it, however, I purchased it again last month and strangely have been loving it. Though I feel I may have got it in a shade too light, which is a shock as nothing normally matches my pale skin, it sits lovely under my eyes and lasts all day.

Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder in Universal
I recently purchased this powder and like a light dusting of it under my eyes and t-section. However, it is not the best and unfortunately feel I should have got the translucent shade over the Universal shade as overtime it sets into the lines and starts to look a little cakey.

Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow
I love this contour kit; I’ve had it for about a year now and I’m still not hitting pan yet. I have raved about it previously on my blog, it's the perfect contour colour and looks beautifully on the skin. And the highlighter shade is just lovely, a great look for a valentines night out!

Urban Decay Eye Primer
The Urban Decay Eye Primer is a classic, so there’s not much to say about that. It makes the eyeshadow last all day and makes the shades bright and pop.

Urban Decay Naked 3
I found this palette when I was looking through my make up drawer, I saw it and knew it would be perfect for Valentines day. It’s pink and peach undertones match perfectly with a bright red lip. The type of eye look I opted for was a beautiful gold shimmer with a dark smokey outer corner.

Benefit Roller Lash
I've recently started to reuse this mascara, when I purchase a mascara I tend to leave then for a few weeks so they are not so ‘wet’. Doing this technique with this particular mascara is perfect for me. It lengthens my lashes beautifully, whilst also making sure to thicken them as well.

Estee Lauder Lipstick in Envious
This is a beautiful red lipstick, perfect for valentine’s day. The red is not a matte shade, which I like. It glides beautifully onto the lips and lasts all day, the lipstick is not drying at all and the colour is a beautiful pillar box red with subtle blue undertones.

What’s your type of look for valentines?
